Cardiopulmonary Therapies & Cardiac Surgery
Extracorporal Life Support
Our broad, high-end product portfolio for short-term or prolonged extracorporeal life support (ECLS) or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) includes a choice of devices and consumables to provide individual and sufficient extracorporeal heart and/or lung support, such as centrifugal pumps, oxygenators, heater units, tubing sets, and catheters and cannulae.
Cardiohelp
The Cardiohelp System is a compact heart-lung support system suitable for all indications requiring extracorporeal circulation for cardiopulmonary support. It can be used for up to 30 days in cases of myocardial or respiratory failure.
Highly portable, the Cardiohelp System can be rapidly deployed for transport of patients requiring respiratory and/or circulatory support.
The Cardiohelp System can support cardiac and/or pulmonary function using either veno-venous or venoarterial ECLS.
Veno-arterial life support is used with patients whose hearts are not adequately supporting their circulation or have arrested. Veno-venous life support provides respiratory assistance for lung disorders. Support can be extended to complete substitution of the organ function.
This provides a logical, well-adapted treatment with optimized ventilation techniques.
The Cardiohelp System is effective in all forms of patient transport, including intrahospital transport between departments, or inter-hospital transport by helicopter or ambulance. Even during intra- or inter-hospital transportation, the portable system guarantees adequate patient oxygen supply and CO₂ reduction to enable the best organ perfusion possible for the patient.
Rotaflow Centrifugal Pump System
The Rotaflow Centrifugal Pump System offers state-of-the-art centrifugal pump technology for best performance and maximum safety. The Rotaflow Centrifugal Pump System is a natural part of the HL 20 Heart-Lung Machine and can also be used as a fully independent stand-alone unit.
The Rotaflow Console operates independently as a stand-alone pump module with its own battery back-up and power supply. It also perfectly complements and can be used on the HL 20 Heart-Lung Machine. Its compact design also enables all vital information to be displayed at a glance. The unique flow and bubble measuring function is an integral part of the Rotaflow system.
HLS Set
The HLS Set Advanced provides complete monitoring of and is specially developed for veno-venous or veno-arterial extracorporeal life support for up to 30 days (only CE region) continuous use. Powered and monitored by the CARDIOHELP System, the HLS Set Advanced combines user-friendliness and patient safety. It also comes with all necessary approvals for transporting patients on extracorporeal life support within the hospital or in-between hospitals.
Permanent Life Support System
The Permanent Life Support (PLS) System from Maquet has been developed to support patients requiring respiratory and/or circulatory support for applications up to 14 days. The system was designed and is assembled with the minimum number of essential components in order to achieve unobstructed blood flow with less blood damage that contributes to better patient outcomes.
HLS cannulae
The wide range of the HLS cannulae is designed for veno-venous and veno-arterial vessel access. HLS cannulae with BIOLINE Coating or SOFTLINE Coating are available for applications in circulatory and pulmonary support.
The HLS cannulae can be inserted percutaneously or with a surgical cut-down. Arterial and venous cannulae are available in a variety of sizes and insertion lengths to meet all needs for peripheral cannulation.
Avalon ELITE Bi-Caval Dual Lumen Catheter
The patented Avalon ELITE Bi-Caval Dual Lumen Catheter is indicated for simultaneous venous drainage and reinfusion of blood via the internal jugular vein during extracorporeal life support procedures.
The catheter is designed to increase the efficiency of blood gas exchange by draining blood from both the upper and lower body while simultaneously reinfusing it directly into the heart. Furthermore, it is designed to minimize recirculation and maximize blood flow while providing a less invasive solution for the patients.
Surgical Perfusion
Advanced surgical perfusion components were used successfully for millions of cardiopulmonary bypass procedures worldwide each year. The Getinge heart-lung perfusion system is part of an established, comprehensive cardiac surgery suite portfolio, ensuring compatible solutions.
HL 20
The Maquet HL 20 perfusion system is reliable, flexible and adaptable. It combines the complex technology needed for cardiopulmonary surgery with clear and concise handling necessary for safe and effective patient management.
The peristaltic roller pumps run quietly and smoothly on low-voltage power supplied by the console. All controls and monitors are managed from a single panel for the ultimate in user-friendly operation.
HCU 40
Easy, rapid and precise temperature control are essential requirements for a hypo-/hyperthermia unit for use during extracorporeal circulation. Getinge’s HCU 40 combines the latest proven technology with outstanding performance and unique usability.
MetaVision Perfusion
MetaVision Perfusion is an advanced point-of-care Clinical Information System designed to support perfusionist workflow. The system automatically retrieves data from the heart-lung machine and other devices and enables perfusionists to document vital information during surgery and heart-lung support.
Quadrox-i
The ease of priming, very high gas and heat exchange, and very low-pressure drop characteristics of all Quadrox-i oxygenators make them a natural choice for all adults, small adults, pediatric and neonates. Based on the well-known and well-established Quadrox technology, the Quadrox-i is available both with and without an integrated arterial filter.
Hemoconcentrators BC
The hemoconcentrators BC 20 plus, BC 60 plus, BC 140 plus provide optimum conservation of patient blood and considerably minimize the need for homologous blood products. By means of transmembrane pressure, they remove excess plasma water and micromolecular components effectively, yet retain corpuscular blood cells, proteins and other valuable components of higher molecular weight.
Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting
Endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH) is at the forefront of technological advances that improve vessel harvesting for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. The EVH procedure uses a smaller incision to obtain a bypass conduit for CABG than traditional vessel harvesting procedures. The smaller incision means reduced infection rate, reduced pain, and less scarring—while also leading to faster recovery, better clinical outcomes, and enhanced patient satisfaction.
Each new generation of this unique technology has been developed in partnership with the specialists who use them in daily practice.
